THE 2ND ‘NITRO CREATE’ WEEK OF 2024 DIVES DEEP INTO A.I.
What happens when you take 200+ Business Technology in-house creators, and give them the time and space to collaborate together? Enter: Nitro Create!
Read on to learn how the second Nitro Create week of 2024 went down.
What is Nitro Create?
One of the opportunities we give our employees to collaborate together is through Nitro Create, POWER’s longest running event in its 11th year, and the centerpiece of BT’s culture.
It’s called “Nitro” Create after Nitro, POWER’s proprietary, state-of-the-art collaborative intelligence platform that enables seamless, real-time communication across 22 operating territories and thousands of employees.
Twice a year, the week-long experience unites POWER technologists from around the globe to reconnect and innovate, clearing their plates of typical daily tasks to focus solely on building new technology advancements that move Nitro and POWER’s business forward.
Human Imagination x Intelligent Creation
Building upon the last Create event, the team focused the agenda again on building with A.I. This time, partnering with our business stakeholders to prototype A.I. capabilities that solve real business challenges.
By exposing people to A.I. more often and getting creative juices flowing, employees will be better prepared to take advantage of this learning opportunity and apply it daily as they build POWER’s future.
Building a Learning Culture Around A.I.
POWER, as a company, is thinking about A.I. ubiquitously across the entire organization. That’s why senior stakeholders from various business units joined Nitro Create teams for the week to shadow and inform the work with their specific business knowledge and needs.
A Spooky Week to Remember
Each night of Nitro Create, BT employees spent time together outside of POWER’s HQ to form even better relationships with colleagues.
With Halloween right around the corner, employees had some spooky-filled fun after hours with a costume contest at Philadelphia’s iconic Reading Terminal Market.
From Nitro Create Prototype to Deployment
POWER’s BT employees were tasked to think critically about how A.I. could be utilized to improve Nitro’s capabilities. At the end of the week, teams presented their projects to the entire department.
In the next year ahead, POWER will invest in both technology and in teams to take Nitro Create concepts from the initial building phase and deploying them into production.
Examples of how project teams used A.I. during Nitro Create include:
- Developed forecasting models to predict installer hiring needs based on real-time sales data.
- Created AI-driven summarization tools to condense Town Hall discussions, project notes, and performance reviews.
- Built AI assistants to handle FAQs and support tickets, covering various topics from compensation and commission structures to 401(k) related inquiries.
- Trained AI models to generate Nitro UI designs from feature requirements, accelerating the software development process.
- Integrated multiple internal data sources, such as technical standards, best practices, and system error logs, to support prompt-based interactions through the company chat.
With A.I. as our ally, we’re paving the way for a faster, more efficient business today.
