POWER’s 2024 Quest Is a Best-of-the-Best Celebration of Music, Art, and Wellness

Culture POWER’s 2024 Quest Is a Best-of-the-Best Celebration of Music, Art, and Wellness

Last month, nearly 3,000 POWER employees and their guests descended upon Cancun, Mexico for the annual Quest music festival —our year-end employee appreciation event. But this is not your average corporate gathering. Quest is a three-day music festival and wellness retreat that transports attendees into a sonic and euphoric paradise.

In its fifth year, we dubbed the theme as “Best of Quest” — a culmination of all the best things that Quest We brought back some of the best musical performers, the best wellness activities and art installations, curating an experience of a lifetime.

It’s something that’s hard to believe until you experience it, so we’re offering an inside look on all of the unexpected and jaw-dropping moments of Quest 2024.

Choose Your Adventure

Part of what makes Quest so unique is that it’s created for POWER employees, by POWER employees. Our in-house People Experience (PX) and Brand teams architect every aspect of the event — from conception to execution.

From the moment attendees touch down in Cancun, everything is carefully crafted, leaving no stone unturned. When attendees arrive at the Moon Palace Resort, they’re greeted with a  curated check-in experience. Food and beverage, Quest branding, photo ops, and music and entertainment are all part of the moment, building the hype for the thrilling three days ahead of them.

Each day is your own until the festival begins. Attendees can hang by the pool where a DJ spins tunes providing the perfect playlist, hit the gym or spa, lounge on the beach, and explore all of the activations that Quest has to offer before the festival starts in the evening.

Tournament of NBA Champs

Two POWER employees face off during the Basketball tournament at Quest.

One of the more unique moments at Quest is a basketball tournament on the beach, where POWER employees team up with former NBA players, made possible by entertainment and sports agency, Vaunt. POWER’s partner production company — Sidetrack Agency — helps to build the NBA-grade “Quest Court” where professionals and amateur players battled for the winning title.

This year brought in former NBA players Eddy Curry, Mario Chalmers, Roger Mason, Rashard Lewis, Carlos Boozer, and Keith Bogans who brought the competition and the good times. Whether you’re participating or spectating, it’s one of the most fun and exciting moments of Quest.

Much More than Music

Quest attendees partake in morning yoga on the beach.
Attendees have the opportunity to explore varying wellness activities during Quest, like yoga, meditation, workout classes, and 5ks for a more holistic and fulfilling experience.

During the days, there’s so much for employees to explore before the music festival begins in the evening. Each morning starts with various workouts and meditations like yoga, HIIT, guided journal meditation, and a 5k. The 5k was in honor of our long-standing nonprofit partner, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, raising awareness and funds for the organization that’s fighting to find a cure for childhood cancer.

The opportunities are endless at Quest. One of the installations that festival goers can take advantage of is an astral planetarium experience.

Quest attendees can also visit the “Get Ready with Me” installation with varying stations like a barber, temporary tattooers, hair braiders, and face and body paint artists to get decked out ahead of the festival.

Attendees aren’t just immersed in music — there are many art installations, photo ops, and activity stations, creating an engaging and interactive experience for Quest-goers that they can truly make their own. Some installations included a three-story Trust Jump, an Astral Planetarium, spray painting on the Expression Van, and more.

“Quest is designed to be so much more than just a concert. It’s an experience that immerses you in art in every form, from music and dance to wellness, crafts, sports, relaxation, and pure self-expression,” said Vice President of People Experience, Chelsea Sullivan. “My hope, year after year, is that each person walks away with a little more joy in their soul from these experiences. Because joy is the most powerful force we have to connect with one another, and when we share that energy, we’re not just coming together – we’re making the world a better place, one moment at a time. And I love that our employees have a space to feel that kind of joy and contribute to making the world a little bit better.”

An Experience for Everyone

The “Expression Van” was an interactive installation at Quest where attendees could spray paint a decked out vintage caravan, allowing for art exploration and freedom of expression.

It’s also important for us to create an environment at Quest that is inclusive of everyone. For those that have a sober lifestyle, we have a program called S.W.A.Y. (Sober Ways to Advance Yourself).

Designed with the spirit of inclusivity and personal growth in mind, S.W.A.Y. is dedicated not only to those committed to a sober lifestyle but also to anyone who values or supports sober living. S.W.A.Y. includes signature mocktails, dedicated lounge areas, activities, and games throughout the resort for those that want a relaxing escape from the big event.

Guided journaling and meditation created a place of solace and reflection for Quest attendees.

New this year, we partnered with Recovery Unplugged — an organization that combines music with traditional and innovative addiction and mental well-being treatment methods to help individuals overcome substance abuse and mental health. It was a way we could make all of our attendees feel included and supported.

Not so Standard Swag

Standard Issue and POWER create an unlikely intersection where streetwear meets construction.

Our PX and Brand teams are in constant pursuit of turning up the dial on Quest every year, looking for ways to innovate, surprise, and excite.

New this year, POWER partnered with illustrious streetwear brand, Standard Issue to create a limited-edition capsule collection of Quest festival merch. Designed by POWERs’s Brand team in collaboration with Standard Issue Co-Founder and former pro skateboarder, Jimmy Gorecki, the capsule was exclusively available to employees and their guests who attended the event.

“The idea behind the collaboration was to push the envelope in elevating the Quest experience for our people to feel even more unique and exclusive, but also create something that had potential to amplify our brand,” said POWER’s Vice President of Creative Services, Sean Flanagan. “Jimmy is a talented creative with strong Philly roots. Collaborating with him and Standard Issue aligned for those reasons, yet the partnership of a construction company and a streetwear brand felt totally unexpected and interesting.”

This isn’t the first time Philly natives Gorecki and Flanagan have worked together. The two partnered back in 2023 on the Generational Collection with the Philadelphia Eagles when Flanagan served as Creative Director for the NFL team.

The four-piece collection provided one-of-a-kind swag for attendees to take a piece of the Quest experience home with them. Talk about surprise and delight. Quest goers were so hyped about the capsule, that the merch booth drew a line of people wrapping throughout the resort eager to get their hands on it.

“Sean Flanagan is an individual I owe at lot to. So when he told me he had a special project in mind for employees at a company with strong Philly roots and wanted to incorporate Standard Issue, it was on,” said Gorecki. “Seeing POWER do this for their staff, and how genuinely psyched everyone is to work there, has been a beautiful thing to witness.”

A “Sublime” Music Festival

POWER’s Quest music festival takes places on the beaches of Cancun, Mexico — not your average corporate event!

It’s hard to believe that a home remodeling company is responsible for orchestrating one of the most exclusive festivals in the country, curating a lineup of international music icons.

We can’t reveal everyone who graced the Quest stage this year or in the past. Let’s just say many of them are Grammy award-winners, major music festival headliners, and Billboard chart toppers. Here’s just part of the genre-divergent 2024 Quest lineup:

At QUEST, you can expect the unexpected. Attendees were surprised when day three headliner Post Malone came out on stage during Sublime’s set. The reunion performance of hit song “What I Got” made waves across social media and news outlets like Billboard, NME, VICE, and Stereogum just to name a few.

“Quest is our way of thanking our people for a year of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice,” said co-CEO Asher Raphael. “POWER is only successful because of them and they deserved a ‘best of the best’ celebration.”
