Relocating for work is known to have its challenges, but POWER makes the process easy — and dare we say, fun.
POWER opens two new offices in major U.S. cities each year to support our rapid growth. Because we promote from within, this provides employees with the opportunity to pack up their lives and start fresh in a brand-new market.
Here’s how POWER takes care of the preparation, so that you can be excited for this upcoming adventure.
What is a Discovery Weekend?
Prior to the big move, POWER hosts a Discovery Weekend — an all-expenses sponsored trip to the new location for employees and a family member to get their feet wet and experience their new home.
Over the course of three days, POWER packs the trip full of events, resources and opportunities to make sure employees and their families feel comfortable, confident and more relaxed about their move.
Welcome Events
Each Discovery Weekend kicks off with a welcome reception, giving the group a chance to get to know one another on a personal level. With individuals relocating from various existing POWER offices from across the country, this is the first time these selected employees will all be together in-person.
The leadership of the new office hosts the evening, toasting to the group’s hard work and future success.
Mindful Mornings
At POWER, we understand the importance of prioritizing mental and physical wellness. At each one of our employee engagement events, we provide mindful activities — like yoga, sound-baths or guided meditations — that foster a different type of connection.
During Discovery Weekends, employees can start their day off on the right foot with a mindful morning session of yoga.
House Hunting
Moving is a huge decision, so the biggest focus during Discovery Weekends is to provide employees with free time to meet with real estate agents, drive around different neighborhoods, view rental properties, or tour active home listings.
POWER assists employees in working with an exclusive realtor and scheduling showings while there to get the most out of their time.
Local Experiences
After checking out potential home sweet homes, each Discovery Weekend provides a local outing to foster camaraderie and fun. During POWER’s most recent Discovery Weekend in Orlando — the company’s 22nd U.S. office — employees and their families had the chance to enjoy Disney’s Epcot theme park, packed with a group scavenger hunt, a private firework viewing area, chances to hop on the park’s most popular attractions after dark, and more.

Curious about school districts, restaurants, or moving company resources? POWER’s People Experience team conducts extensive research of each new city, and makes all information accessible via a guidebook on the company’s internal intranet. There, employees can find details and recommendations related to specific relocating interests or needs.

From an employee’s initial application process, to Discovery Weekend, to the big move, POWER is there for its people every step of the way.
POWER opens every expansion territory with internal employees, growing from within and providing those interested in relocating with a unique opportunity for development and leadership. To assist with moving costs, POWER also provides employees with a monetary relocation package to use towards a down payment, moving services, and more.
